Rescue in Olmedo Street

  • Situation: Swarm located inside a parked automobile.

  • Action: The driver, not knowing how to proceed, requested help through ECU 911. The Fire Department notified our team.

  • Intervention: We went to the site and safely rescued the swarm.

  • Observations: The swarm was relocated without incident.

Rescue in rural area (near a house)

  • Situation: Swarm established in a tree near a rural house.

  • Action: Coordinated with the Fire Department, who facilitated access using a ladder.

  • Intervention: The swarm was safely rescued.

  • Observations: There was no damage or risk to property or people.

Rescue on private land

  • Situation: Swarm located on land whose owner requested immediate removal.

  • Action: Rescue was carried out in response to the request.

  • Intervention: The swarm was removed and properly relocated.

  • Observations: It was ensured that no swarm remains in the area.

Rescue in the rural community of Chapues, Urbina parish

The rescues were carried out effectively, without incident to people, the environment or the bee colonies. The effective collaboration between the rescue team and the fire department is noteworthy. They are now safe and in good health.

Relocation site: La Delicia, south of Tulcán

  • Situation: Swarm near bean crops.

  • Action: Upon noticing the presence of the swarm, the landowner immediately contacted the Fire Department to request its rescue and safe relocation.

  • Intervention: After assessing the situation, the volunteers and the beekeeper in charge of the rescue planned the intervention for the following morning, before the bees began their daily activity, with the objective of preventing the scouts and foragers from being orphaned after the hive move.

  • Observations: The swarm was relocated without incident.
