Rescue and Protection

It is a collaborative initiative aimed at the protection and preservation of bee populations, through the joint work of citizens, specialized beekeepers, local authorities, public, private and non-governmental organizations and other actors committed to environmental conservation.

Our main objective is to rescue colonies at risk, relocate them in safe and adequate environments, take care of them and raise awareness about the vital importance of these pollinators in the balance of ecosystems and global food security.

Here are the instructions to follow, which have been planned by organizations, institutions and individuals involved in the process.

How does it work?

1. Immediate Reporting and Response
Citizens will be able to report swarms or beehives in risky locations (urban areas, homes, public infrastructure, etc.) through an emergency line or digital platform.
The fire department, in coordination with trained beekeepers, will assess the situation and activate the rescue protocol.

2. Safe Rescue and Relocation
Firefighters will secure the area to prevent incidents and protect the community.
Beekeepers will intervene to capture and relocate the colony to a safe habitat, such as specialized apiaries or protected areas.
A process free of pesticides or harmful methods will be guaranteed, prioritizing the welfare of the bees.

3. Education and Awareness
Talks and workshops will be organized for the community on the importance of bees and how to act in the event of finding a swarm.
Citizen participation in the protection of pollinators will be promoted through good practices in gardens, orchards and green spaces.
We will encourage the support of companies, institutions and volunteers in the financing and expansion of the program.
